Paris Pet Influencer Labrador Signs with Talent Agency

Agent Negotiates Sponsored Content Deal for Dog Whose Revenue Exceeds Owner’s Salary

PARIS — Beurre, a three-year-old golden Labrador whose Instagram account has amassed 340,000 followers through what his owner describes as “an authentic window into the Parisian dog experience,” has signed with talent representation agency Agence Patte to manage what the press release calls “his expanding brand portfolio and content commitments.”

The agency represents eleven animals including a philosophical cat, two expressive rabbits, and a tortoise whose slow-content format has found its audience. Beurre’s monthly revenue from partnerships has exceeded his owner’s salary since February.

The Business Model

“Beurre’s engagement rate is exceptional,” explained his agent. “He’s authentic, photogenic, and has a relationship with his audience that many human influencers cannot achieve, partly because he never posts anything controversial and partly because he is a dog and does not understand the concept of controversy.” Current partnerships include a French dog food company, a luxury pet accessories brand, and a meditation app whose partnership with a Labrador the content team has decided not to examine too closely. According to France’s advertising regulatory authority ARCOM, sponsored content featuring animals must disclose the commercial relationship. Beurre does not know about the tag. Beurre does not know about the account. Beurre is currently asleep.
